I WISH YOU LOVE
Good-bye, no use leading with our chins
This is where our story ends
Never lovers, ever friends
Good-bye, let our hearts call it a day
But before you walk away
I sincerely want to say
I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss, but more than this
I wish you love.
And in July a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade
I wish you health
But more than wealth
I wish you love
My breaking heart and I agree
That you and I could never be
So with my best
My very best
I set you free

What a classy way to bid farewell to the old year…This is where our story ends Never lovers, ever friends… No matter how 2019 turned out personally, it’s over. … My breaking heart and I agree That you and I could never be… A new day; a new year, and a new decade have dawned. Since I began writing a quarterly newsletter, I usually craft something about New Year’s resolutions. This year, instead of debating their pros and cons, offering alternative perspectives, or lamenting the very existence of the concept, I offer my warmest wishes to you for joy, peace of mind, and love.
Joy is unlike any other pleasurable feeling we experience. It emanates from a wellspring of emotions within the heart and soul, defying description. Joy is deeper and more substantial in its essence than happiness. It manifests through attitudes and actions. It is recognizable and can be shared. Joy is… an antidote, a fount of hope, and a partner of faith. It is laughter, a smile, and an ineffable feeling of goodness. Joy simply is… and my wish for you is joy borne out of a genuine appreciation for the blessings of life; the willingness to embrace seasons of change, and acceptance…I wish you joy.
Peace of mind is the gift of joy. We are challenged by situations we cannot control, people whose attitudes and actions we find jarring, unconscionable, and ultimately inexcusable. We’re saddened by loss; feelings of despair and defeat can be overwhelming. Peace of mind empowers us; it enables us to keep going… no matter the circumstances, having done our best. Peace of mind is a manifestation of wisdom and discernment. It is an intuitive knowing; the gift of understanding.
And the Queen [Makeda] said unto her subjects:
“Ye who are my people, listen to my words for I desire wisdom and my heart seeketh to find understanding.:
I am smitten with the love of wisdom, for wisdom is far better than treasures of gold and silver, and wisdom is the best of everything that hath been created on the earth. Unto what under the heavens shall wisdom be compared? It is sweeter than honey and it makes one to rejoice more than wine; it shines more than the sun and it is beloved more than precious stones. It fattens more than oil, and it satisfies more than dainty meats, and it gives more fame than thousands of gold and silver. It is a source of joy for the heart, a bright and shining light for the eyes and a giver of speed to the feet; a shield for the breast and a helmet for the head.

I wish you peace of mind.
I wish you love…sweet, tender, precious love. I wish you love of self, love of God, and the world God created. I wish you memories which fill your heart with joy. I wish you experiences eliciting laughter and smiles. I wish you the blessings of family and opportunities to strengthen bonds over good food enhanced by warm fellowship. I wish you friendships which build you up, offer comfort, sustenance, and acceptance, whenever they are needed, without hesitation or with strings attached. I wish you mountain-top experiences and life-affirming sojourns in the valley. I wish you the desires of your heart and the best of health. I wish you love…
If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would be a noisy going or a clanging cymbal. (2) If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. (3) If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
(4) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud (5) or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. (6) It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. (7) Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
(8) Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever…(13) Three things will last forever – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:1-8; 13 (New Living Translation)
Happy New Year!!! I wish you joy, peace of mind, and most of all, love.
